Trekking Company Website Design in Nepal

Trekking company website design is the work of turning your treks into pages a traveller in Denver or Munich trusts enough to pay a deposit on. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, the web developer in Itahari who built the HeliGo Nepal charter marketplace, and I design trekking sites in Next.js or WordPress from NPR 35,000.

  • One page per trek: itinerary, altitude, includes and excludes
  • WhatsApp enquiries and online deposits on every trek
  • Licences, TAAN membership and reviews where travellers look

01What it needs

Trekking Company Website Design: What Wins a Booking

A website for a trekking agency has one job: to make a traveller who has never met you confident enough to pay. These six parts do most of that work, so I build each one into the page templates from the start.

  • A Page for Every Trek

Day by day, with walking hours, sleeping altitude and lodges, plus exactly what the price covers and leaves out.

  • Fixed Departure Dates

Dates, prices and seats left, updated from the admin, so solo travellers can find a group to join.

  • Enquiries and Deposits

WhatsApp and email for questions, and an online deposit by card, eSewa or Khalti when the traveller is ready.

  • Licences on Show

Your Department of Tourism licence, company registration and TAAN membership, with numbers that match the certificates.

  • The Languages You Sell In

English for every market, then German or French pages only where you can answer enquiries in that language.

  • Fast on a Phone

Light pages and photos at the right size, so a trek page opens quickly on lodge Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Many of your readers are travellers abroad, planning months ahead and comparing several agencies. Since 1 April 2023, foreign trekkers in 14 regions, from Kanchenjunga to Humla, have needed a guide arranged through a registered company under the Nepal Tourism Board’s trekking rules, so choosing an agency is part of planning most treks.

02Itinerary pages

Itinerary Pages That Answer Every Question

The trek page is where a traveller decides. It should answer the questions they would otherwise email you, in the order they ask them.

The blocks on a trek page, what each shows and why travellers need it
BlockWhat it showsWhy it matters
Trip factsDays, maximum altitude, grade, group size, start and end pointAnswers “is this trek for me?” before any scrolling
Day by dayRoute, walking hours, altitude gain, lodge and meals, with rest days markedShows the pace and the acclimatisation plan
Altitude profileA chart of sleeping altitude for each night, drawn from the day dataAltitude is read at a glance
Cost includes and excludesPermits, guide, porter, lodges, meals, flights, insurance and tipsStops the “what’s not included?” email
Fixed departuresDate, price, seats left and whether the departure is guaranteedLets travellers pick a date or join a group
PermitsWhich permits apply, who arranges them and when you last checkedThe rules changed in 2023 and again in 2026

One Source for Every Trek

In the admin, a trek is a set of fields: days, altitudes, includes, departures and prices. The page, the altitude chart, a printable itinerary and the structured data all come from those fields, so one change shows everywhere.

Honest Altitude and Difficulty

A careful trekker wants to know where they sleep each night and how high. I mark acclimatisation days, show the highest point clearly and add a plain difficulty note.

03Booking flow

Booking Flow: WhatsApp, Enquiry and Online Deposit

Most travellers ask a question before they pay, so every trek page offers both paths: a conversation now, or a deposit when they are ready. Every request lands in one place, with the trek and date attached.

  • WhatsApp and email buttons that open with the trek name and date already written
  • An enquiry form that emails you and saves the request
  • Card deposits through a Nepali bank’s gateway. Which cards and currencies it takes, its fees and payout time depend on the bank and your merchant agreement
  • eSewa and Khalti for travellers paying from Nepal, each payment confirmed on the server before a seat is held
  • PayPal only if your company can receive it, which I check with you first

Card options have grown: NMB Bank’s gateway (December 2025) accepts Visa and Mastercard from domestic or international banks, and NIC Asia added Apple Pay and Google Pay for merchants in October 2026. Khalti’s docs say to confirm each payment with its lookup API, which I do. More in my eSewa and Khalti payment integration guide.

04Trust signals

Trust Signals: Licences, Memberships and Reviews

A traveller can’t walk into your office in Thamel before booking, so the website has to show what they would check in person. The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal asks for these same documents before it accepts a member.

The list follows TAAN’s membership requirements. If you run climbing trips, add your Nepal Mountaineering Association membership. A licence line in the footer that links to a page of scans does more than a row of logos with no proof behind them.

05Ranking

Ranking for Itinerary Searches: Schema, Languages and Speed

Trek pages rank on their content first. Markup, languages and speed decide whether Google can read it and show it to the right traveller. This is what each markup type does on Google, checked in November 2026.

Structured data types for trek pages, what Google does with each in 2026, and how Ujjwal uses them

Multilingual Pages with Hreflang

Each language gets its own URLs, translated by someone who reads it, and every version lists itself and the others in hreflang tags. Google ignores tags that don’t point back. One English version usually serves the US, the UK and Australia together.

Speed on Slow Mountain Connections

Trek pages carry big photos, which is where slow travel sites go wrong. I serve WebP images at the size the screen needs, keep scripts light and test every template against Core Web Vitals on a throttled phone connection.

Trekking company SEO

06Platform

WordPress or a Custom Build for a Trekking Website?

Both can work. The choice depends on how many treks you sell, who edits them and how you take money.

Which Should a Trekking Company Choose?

Choose WordPress if your staff will add treks and posts every week and online payment can wait. Choose a custom build in Next.js if deposits, a quote builder or a trip planner are the reason for the site. If WordPress fits, I’ll say so, as I do on every project.

HeliGo Nepal: A Travel Marketplace I Built

HeliGo Nepal is a live marketplace for private helicopter charters to Everest, Annapurna and Mustang. A traveller sends one request and gets a fixed quote from a CAAN-certified operator within two hours.

Behind it sit parts a trekking company needs too: a quote builder and dispatch screens for staff, payments and refunds kept in a ledger in paisa, and an AI planning assistant that suggests routes, then hands over to a person. Each destination, from Lukla to Muktinath, has its own indexable page.

08Pricing

Trekking Company Website Design Cost in Nepal

A trekking website with treks you edit yourself starts from NPR 35,000. Online booking with deposits starts from NPR 60,000. Your quote is fixed in writing after a short call.

Starting prices for trekking company websites in Nepal, updated November 2026
ProjectStarting priceTypical timeline
Static websiteA new agency with a few treks and an enquiry formNPR18,0001–2 weeks
Website with CMS or WordPressA page per trek you edit yourself, fixed departures and a blogNPR35,0002–4 weeks
Online booking with depositsCard through your bank’s gateway, eSewa, Khalti and bank transferNPR60,0003–8 weeks
Trek pages written for youItineraries, cost and permit pages, fact-checkedQuoted per pageBy number of treks

What Moves the Price

Eight treks with your own text sit near the starting price. Forty treks in three languages with deposits do not.

  • How many treks and regions you sell
  • Whether you supply trek details or I write them
  • Deposits, and which gateways your bank provides
  • Extra languages, each with its own pages
  • Moving an old site without losing its rankings
  • A quote builder or trip planner like HeliGo’s

For comparison, one Nepali web company’s published tourism packages run from about NPR 18,000 for a basic site to NPR 250,000 for an online travel agency platform (approximate, from advertised packages, November 2026). Domain, hosting, gateway fees and paid plugins are extra. Every price I offer is on my services page, and my guide to website cost in Nepal covers yearly running costs. Agencies in Thamel and Lakeside work with me online, on Nepal time; see my notes for a web developer in Kathmandu and in Pokhara.

FAQ: Trekking Company Website Design

Prices, trek pages, deposits, licences and languages.

Ask me on WhatsApp

How Much Does a Trekking Company Website Cost in Nepal?

With me, a trekking company website with a CMS, where you add and edit treks yourself, starts from NPR 35,000 and takes 2 to 4 weeks. Online booking with deposits by card, eSewa or Khalti starts from NPR 60,000 and takes 3 to 8 weeks. Domain, hosting and gateway fees are extra.

What Should a Trek Page Include?

Trip facts first: days, maximum altitude, grade and group size. Then the day-by-day itinerary with walking hours and sleeping altitude, an altitude chart, what the price includes and excludes, fixed departure dates, the permits needed and a short FAQ. Add your guides and reviews from travellers who walked that trek.

Can Travellers Pay a Deposit by Card on a Nepali Website?

Yes, through a Nepali bank’s card payment gateway. Several banks now accept Visa and Mastercard issued abroad. Which cards and currencies work, the fees and the payout time depend on your bank and your merchant agreement, so I confirm them with you before building the checkout.

Can You Add eSewa and Khalti for Nepali Travellers?

Yes. eSewa and Khalti suit travellers paying from Nepal, such as Nepali trekkers or residents booking for friends. Each payment is confirmed on the server through the wallet’s own verification step before a seat is held, so a closed browser tab never leaves a booking half paid.

Should a Trekking Agency Use WordPress or a Custom Website?

Use WordPress if your staff will add treks and posts every week and online payment can wait; tour plugins such as WP Travel Engine handle itineraries well. Choose a custom build if deposits, a quote builder or a trip planner are central to how you sell. Both start from NPR 35,000 with me.

Which Licences Should a Trekking Website Show?

Show what the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal asks members for: your Department of Tourism licence to run a trekking business, company registration from the Office of the Company Registrar, PAN/VAT registration and your Nepal Rastra Bank foreign exchange licence, plus TAAN membership and your guides’ licences.

Do I Need My Trekking Website in German or Other Languages?

Only if you can sell in that language, because a German page brings German enquiries. Start with English, which serves the US, the UK and Australia, then add one language at a time with its own URLs and hreflang tags. Unreviewed machine translation gives readers a poor first impression.

Will My New Trekking Website Rank on Google?

It launches with what Google needs to read it: clean URLs, one clear heading per page, breadcrumbs, a sitemap, fast mobile pages and structured data that matches the page. Ranking for trek names against OTAs takes content and links too, so I never promise positions. My page on SEO for trekking companies covers that part.
