Remote Web Developer for UK Businesses, Working from Nepal

If you want a remote web developer for your UK business, I work from Itahari, Nepal, where your morning falls inside my working afternoon. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack developer and SEO specialist with 3+ years and 13+ projects shipped. The price is fixed in writing, and every build follows UK GDPR and cookie rules.

  • Your morning is my working afternoon

UK to Nepal Time Difference, Winter and Summer

Nepal stays on UTC+5:45 all year, so it is 5 h 45 min ahead of the UK in winter and 4 h 45 min ahead during British Summer Time.

UK rules

UK GDPR and Cookie Consent, Built In

UK websites fall under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with cookies and marketing emails covered by PECR. The ICO expects non-essential cookies to wait for consent, and “Reject all” to be as easy as “Accept all”.

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 relaxed consent for some low-risk cookies, such as basic analytics, where people are told and can object. Advertising and tracking cookies still need consent first.

  • Non-essential cookies blocked until someone agrees
  • A privacy notice that matches what you collect
  • Forms that ask only for what you use
  • Company number and registered office on the site
  • WCAG 2.2 AA, with the Equality Act 2010 in mind
  • Hosting and processors listed for your records

Built with these rules in mind; your lawyer has the final say. I’m a developer, not a solicitor or data protection officer.

An example banner: equal buttons, and nothing is set until a visitor chooses.

FAQ: Hiring a Remote Web Developer for a UK Business

Shared hours, UK GDPR, cookies, currency and search, answered for UK companies.

Ask me on WhatsApp

Can a UK Business Hire a Remote Web Developer in Nepal?

Yes. I work with UK companies as an independent contractor from Itahari, Nepal. You get a fixed quote in USD, a written contract, payment by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and an NDA if you want one. The code and intellectual property transfer to your company on payment.

How is a Remote Developer in Nepal Different from a UK Freelancer?

You still deal directly with the person writing your code, as you would with a UK freelancer. The differences are that you pay one fixed project price instead of a day rate, we share 3 h 15 min of live working time each winter morning and 4 h 15 min in summer, and the contract and invoices run in USD.

What is the Time Difference Between the UK and Nepal?

Nepal is 5 hours 45 minutes ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) and 4 hours 45 minutes ahead during British Summer Time, because Nepal never changes its clocks. So 9:00 in London is 14:45 in Nepal in winter and 13:45 in summer.

How Many Working Hours Do We Share?

Your morning sits inside my working day: 9:00 to 12:15 UK time in winter and 9:00 to 13:15 in summer. Calls later in your afternoon fall in my evening, which I book by appointment, so in practice your whole working day is reachable.

Will My Website Comply with UK GDPR?

I build it to support compliance: consent before non-essential cookies, a privacy notice that matches what you collect, short forms, secure hosting and a list of the processors you use. Compliance also depends on how your business handles data after launch, so your solicitor or data protection adviser has the final say.

Do I Still Need a Cookie Banner After the Data (Use and Access) Act?

Usually, yes. The 2025 Act lets some low-risk cookies, such as basic analytics, run without consent where people are told and can object, but advertising and most tracking cookies still need consent first. I check what your site actually sets and build the banner to match.

Do You Quote in Pounds or Dollars?

In US dollars, like all my clients outside Nepal. The price is fixed in the contract, and you can pay by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal; Wise and PayPal both show the sterling amount before you send, so the invoice holds no surprises.

Can You Optimise My Site for google.co.uk and Local Searches?

Yes. I research keywords on UK search data, write in UK English, build a genuinely different page for each town or region you serve and set up your Google Business Profile. If you also sell abroad, hreflang tags tell Google which version suits UK searchers.

Should a UK Business Use a .co.uk or .com Domain?

Use .co.uk or .uk if most customers are in the UK, because it signals a UK audience to people and to Google. Use .com if you sell internationally, with your UK pages marked en-GB. Either can rank; content and links matter more than the ending.

How Do You Handle Nepali Holidays and UK Deadlines?

I share my calendar at the start. Dashain and Tihar, Nepal’s main festivals, usually fall between late September and November, so I plan milestones around them and around UK bank holidays. You never find out about a holiday when a deadline is due.
