Restaurant Website Design in Nepal
Restaurant website design in Nepal starts with a menu people can read on a phone: real text with prices, not a PDF. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a web developer in Itahari. I build restaurant, café and bakery sites with table booking, online ordering paid by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR, and a Google Maps listing that brings people in.
- The menu as a fast page, with Restaurant and Menu markup
- Ordering without the delivery app in between
- Google Business Profile, photos and reviews set up
Sample: menu structured data

"acceptsReservations": true }

02Ordering
Online Ordering in Nepal: Your Own Site, Foodmandu or Pathao Food?
Foodmandu and Pathao Food both run food delivery in Nepal today. Foodmandu, running since 2010, lists over 1,000 restaurants across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Butwal and Pokhara, and Pathao Food sits in the Pathao app beside rides and parcels. They bring new customers and riders. Your own ordering page brings your regulars back without an app in between.
| Your own ordering page | Foodmandu or Pathao Food | WhatsApp orders only | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who orders | Regulars, and people who find you on Google | New customers browsing the app | People who already have your number |
| Delivery | Pickup, dine-in or your own rider | The app’s riders | Whatever you arrange |
| Cost per order | No app fee, only your payment provider’s fee | The fee in your agreement with the app | Nothing but staff time |
| Payment | eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR, confirmed on the server | Inside the app | Screenshots checked by hand |
| Your menu | Your photos and words, on your own page | Inside the app, beside other restaurants | A photo or a PDF |
What an Ordering Page Includes
Keep the apps for reach and use your own page for regulars. Put its link on your Business Profile, where businesses outside the US can add their own “Place an order” link and set it as preferred, and print it on bags and bills.
- The menu with a cart and add-ons
- Pickup times or delivery areas and charges
- eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay QR or cash on delivery
- Each payment checked with the provider before the kitchen starts
- A new-order alert on the counter and by email
- Order history for repeat customers
An ordering site works like a small online store, so my guide on how to start an online store in Nepal applies, and the payment side is in my eSewa and Khalti integration guide.
03Google Maps
Ranking for “Restaurant Near Me” on Google Maps
Google says it ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence. You can’t move your kitchen closer to the searcher, but the other two are work you can do: the right categories, a menu Google can read, real photos and a steady flow of reviews.
Business Profile
- One primary category and up to nine more
- Hours, including festival days
- Menu, ordering and WhatsApp links
Photos
- Your best dishes, shot in daylight
- The room, the counter and the front
- New photos every month
Reviews
- A review QR code on tables and bills
- A reply to every review
- No free dishes in return, which Google forbids
Website
- The same name, address and phone
- Restaurant schema with hours and cuisine
- A page for each branch
The profile work is the core of my local SEO service, and my Google Business Profile setup guide walks through it for free. I build for restaurants and cafés across Nepal, from Kathmandu and Pokhara Lakeside to Chitwan, working from Itahari.
04QR menus & payments
QR Menus and QR Payments at the Table
A QR code on each table opens the same menu page: no app, no PDF, and a switch between Nepali and English. If you want, guests order from the table and the order reaches the counter with the table number.
- One menu page for the website, the QR code and Google
- Prices updated once, everywhere
- The bill paid by Fonepay QR from any bank app
- Payments matched to the table, not guessed from screenshots
In Sajilai, the rental marketplace I built, a business uploads its Fonepay or NepalQR code once, and each booking gets a QR with the amount and booking code already inside. Personal eSewa and Khalti codes can’t carry an amount, so the amount shows beside them. A table bill works the same way.
05Loyalty
Loyalty for Regulars: What Building Eknas Taught Me
A café lives on regulars, but a paper stamp card gets lost and is easy to fake. Eknas is the loyalty program app I built for its owners, for cafés, restaurants, salons, gyms and shops in Nepal.
Businesses in Nepal rarely know who their regular customers are, or whether an offer actually brings anyone back. Ujjwal Rupakheti built Eknas to change that: a free wallet for customers, a counter app where staff record a purchase by phone number or QR code, and a dashboard where owners run offers and see results by branch. He understood the problem and built every part of it properly.
Points per Rupee
Customers earn one point for every rupee, and rewards are claimed with a short code that works once.
Hard to Fake
The member QR changes every 30 seconds and carries a signature, so a screenshot is rejected.
Messages That Bring People Back
Birthday, almost-there and win-back messages go out by themselves.
Works with Your Site
Its public API lets an online checkout record bills, so an ordering page can earn points too.
You can use Eknas as it is, or I can build loyalty into your own ordering site. Read the Eknas case study for how it works at the counter.
06Pricing
Restaurant Website Design Prices in Nepal (2026)
A restaurant or café website starts from NPR 18,000, a site with a menu you edit from NPR 35,000, and online ordering with eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR from NPR 60,000. Your price is fixed in writing after a short call.

Not included: domain, hosting, payment provider fees, food photography and printing the QR codes. Every price I offer is on my services page, and the full range of sites is on my web developer in Nepal page. How the written scope, weekly previews and staged payments work is on hiring a project-based web developer.
FAQ: Restaurant Website Design in Nepal
Menus, ordering, payments and Google Maps, answered for restaurants, cafés and bakeries.
Ask me on WhatsAppHow Much Does a Restaurant Website Cost in Nepal?
With me, a restaurant, café or bakery website with the menu as text, hours, a map and table booking requests starts from NPR 18,000 and takes 1 to 2 weeks. A menu your staff edit starts from NPR 35,000, and online ordering with eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR payments from NPR 60,000. Domain and hosting are extra.
Should My Menu be a PDF or a Web Page?
A web page. A PDF or a photo of the printed menu is slow to open on mobile data, hard to read on a phone and easy to forget when prices change. A menu built as page text loads quickly, works as your QR menu, can carry Menu structured data, and gives Google and AI assistants the dish names in words they can read.
Can Customers Order and Pay by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay?
Yes. An ordering page can take eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay QR, plus cash on delivery if you want it. You need a merchant account with each provider. I check every payment with the provider on the server before the order reaches the kitchen, so a fake screenshot or a dropped connection never turns into a free meal.
Do I Still Need Foodmandu or Pathao Food If I Have a Website?
Usually yes, for reach. Foodmandu and Pathao Food bring customers who have never heard of you and supply riders. Your own ordering page is for regulars and for people who find you on Google, with no app fee on those orders. Many restaurants keep both, with the direct link on the Business Profile.
Does Menu Structured Data Show in Google?
Not as a special result. Menu, MenuSection and MenuItem are valid schema.org types, and Restaurant markup can point to your menu, but Google shows no rich result for menu markup. It is still worth adding, because it states your dishes, cuisine and hours clearly, and Google’s guidance for food businesses asks for the menu’s URL.
How Do I Rank for “Restaurant Near Me” Searches?
Google ranks these results by relevance, distance and prominence. Choose the most specific primary category, fill in hours and menu, add real photos every month, ask every customer for a review with a QR code, reply to each one, and link the profile to a website page with the same details. My local SEO page covers the full routine.
Can You Set up QR Menus for My Tables?
Yes. Each table gets a QR code that opens your menu page, in Nepali and English, with no app to install. The same page is your website menu, so prices change once for both. If you want, guests can also order and pay from the table by Fonepay QR, with the table number attached to each order.
