I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack web developer and SEO specialist in Itahari. For 3+ years I’ve built booking websites, travel platforms and SaaS in Nepal. Pokhara’s hotels, trekking agencies and adventure companies work with me online, so travellers find them on Google, and book them directly, before they land.
The Pokhara market
Pokhara Metropolitan City, the capital of Gandaki Province, is Nepal’s largest metropolitan city by area. Its economy turns on visitors: hotels and guesthouses along Phewa Lake in Lakeside, trekking agencies for the Annapurna region, paragliding from the Sarangkot ridge, boating, cafés and yoga retreats. Pokhara International Airport opened on 1 January 2023, and Kathmandu is a 25-minute flight or about 200 km by road.
Two things shape how Pokhara businesses win customers online. Travellers plan in advance, often from abroad, in the months before spring and autumn. And since April 2023 the Nepal Tourism Board has required foreign trekkers in national parks and conservation areas to trek with a licensed guide, so more of them search for an agency before they arrive.
Both point the same way: your pages need to exist, load fast and answer questions well before the season starts.

Search behaviour
A traveller searches Pokhara three times: at home while planning, in Lakeside once they’ve arrived, and more and more often inside an AI assistant. Each moment needs a different kind of page.
Weeks or months ahead, in English and other languages, travellers research treks, costs and permits, and compare agencies on Google and TripAdvisor.
Once they arrive, searches turn local and urgent: a flight today, a lake-view room tonight, dinner nearby, mostly on Google Maps.
More travellers ask ChatGPT or Gemini to plan their days. Those tools quote pages that state prices, durations and what is included in plain words.
What I build
Every Pokhara business sells an experience someone has to imagine before they pay. The site’s job is to make that easy, then make booking even easier.
Room pages that name the view plainly, seasonal rates, a booking enquiry on every page and Hotel structured data. Your details match your booking-site listings, so Google trusts both.
One page per trek with a day-by-day itinerary, altitudes, ACAP and TIMS permits, what the price includes and your guides’ licences. Those pages win the long, specific searches that bring serious bookings.
Flight options and durations, pickup from Lakeside, pilot and safety information, your weather and refund policy, and a booking request that asks for date, time slot and weight up front.
For operators selling flights or packages at scale: quotes, dispatch, payments and settlements in one system, like the charter marketplace I built for HeliGo Nepal.
Before you decide, try the live builds the way a traveller would: request a flight on HeliGo Nepal, browse treks on HamroYatra, or open Hotel Aarohi on mobile data.
“Within months, our hospitality business was ranking for keywords we never thought possible.”
Hospitality proof
The words quoted here are from Monalisa Hospitality, which works in Pokhara and Kathmandu. Separately, a hospitality business with a strong reputation and almost no search presence reached the Google Maps top 3 within six weeks once its listings were made consistent and location schema was added.

Working together
Biratnagar has no direct flights to Pokhara at the moment, so Pokhara projects run online: WhatsApp and video calls in Nepali or English, and a preview link every week. You pay in stages by eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer against a fixed quote. When a visit helps, I travel through Kathmandu.
June to August is quiet for most of Pokhara, the best time to redesign, write trek pages and fix technical problems.
New pages go live 8 to 12 weeks ahead, early enough for Google to crawl and rank them before bookings start.
Ask every happy guest for a review, keep photos and hours current, and answer WhatsApp quickly.

Pricing
Prices are the same across Nepal: websites from NPR 18,000, online stores from NPR 60,000, SaaS from NPR 70,000 and SEO audits from NPR 15,000. A trekking agency with many routes usually needs the CMS tier, so you can add treks yourself.

Coverage
I work with businesses across Pokhara Metropolitan City and Kaski, and with operators whose trips start here. Further south, see the Chitwan and Butwal pages; for the capital, Kathmandu.
Hotels, treks, paragliding and the seasons, answered for Pokhara businesses.
Ask me on WhatsAppA hotel or guesthouse site starts at NPR 18,000 and takes 1 to 2 weeks, with room pages, rates, a map and booking by WhatsApp. A larger hotel that wants to edit pages and run a blog starts at NPR 35,000. Domain and hosting are extra.
It can shift some bookings to you directly, mostly from returning guests, referrals and people who search your hotel’s name. It won’t replace booking sites, which bring guests who would never find you otherwise, and no one can promise a percentage. Consistent details across all listings help both.
A page for every trek with the itinerary day by day, maximum altitude, permits, what the price includes and excludes, group size and guide details. Add an honest FAQ about difficulty and weather. Those pages answer the specific searches that serious trekkers make while planning.
It’s a competitive search, so the work has several parts: a complete Google Business Profile with photos and videos, a fast page for each flight option with prices, a steady flow of reviews and links from travel sites. Expect 3 to 6 months of consistent work before rankings move.
In the quiet months before a season, ideally during the monsoon. New pages need several weeks to be crawled and ranked, so starting in October for autumn bookings is late. A Google Business Profile fix, though, can help at any time.
Yes. Monalisa Hospitality, which works in Pokhara and Kathmandu, said that within months its business was ranking for keywords it never thought possible. I’ve also built a hotel website with local SEO, Hotel Aarohi, and travel platforms such as HeliGo Nepal.
Guests in Nepal can pay by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay through an online store or checkout, from NPR 60,000. Card payments from abroad depend on the gateway your bank offers, so many Pokhara businesses take a deposit by invoice after the enquiry. We pick the simplest route that works for you.
Yes. I build English sites with optional Nepali or other language versions, each with hreflang tags so search engines show the right one. You or a translator supply the text for extra languages, and I set up the structure, menus and metadata.
Yes. I built HamroYatra, a travel platform with verified agencies and guide licence checks, and HeliGo Nepal, a helicopter charter marketplace with dispatch and settlements. A first version of a platform like these starts at NPR 70,000, and the code and data are yours, so it can grow with your business.
When a visit adds something, such as planning a large hotel site or training your front desk on the CMS. I travel through Kathmandu, and we agree the date and travel cost first. Everything else runs online, with a preview link you can check from Lakeside.
Share your website, listing or Maps link, and within one working day I’ll tell you what I’d fix first, with a fixed quote.
