Fonts That Stay Light
A full Japanese font carries thousands of characters. I use system fonts such as Hiragino and Yu Gothic, or a subset web font, so pages stay fast on a phone.
As a web developer for Japanese businesses, I work from Itahari, Nepal, 3 hours 15 minutes behind Tokyo, so your afternoon is my working morning. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack developer and SEO specialist with 3+ years and 13+ projects shipped. You get Japanese, English and Nepali sites, APPI-aware builds and a fixed quote.

Where I work from, all year
Nepali businesses in Japan
At the end of 2025, 300,992 Nepali nationals lived in Japan, the fifth-largest foreign group, by Immigration Services Agency figures. Many of the “Indian” curry restaurants across Japan are run by Nepali owners, alongside grocery shops, import and trading firms, and schools.
Their customers read Japanese, their community reads Nepali, and visitors want English. One site can serve all three, with each language on its own address, so Google shows each reader the right one.
Running a Nepali restaurant in Japan? The build follows my restaurant website design service, adapted for Japanese diners. Japanese-language institutes and consultancies in Nepal that send students to Japan are covered on my education consultancy website page.
One restaurant, two of its three languages: Japanese for local diners, Nepali for the community, English one tap away.
Time zones
Japan is 3 h 15 min ahead of Nepal in every season, because neither country uses daylight saving time. Your 9:00 is my 5:45, and my 9:00 is your 12:15.
Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka share one clock
Itahari, NepalNPT, UTC+5:45, no clock changes
09:00–18:00calls from 07:00 to midnight
Tokyo, Osaka & FukuokaJST, UTC+9, all year
10:15–18:00your time, 7 h 45 min
If your office keeps 9:00 to 18:00, your afternoon from 12:15 sits inside my normal hours: 5 h 45 min a day. On call days I start at 07:00, which is 10:15 in Tokyo, so a late-morning meeting works too. My day runs until 21:15 your time, so messages sent before you leave usually get an answer the same evening.
Japanese on the web
A Japanese site needs more than translated words: the fonts are heavy, sentences have no spaces, and forms follow local habits. These are the details I build in.
A full Japanese font carries thousands of characters. I use system fonts such as Hiragino and Yu Gothic, or a subset web font, so pages stay fast on a phone.
Japanese has no spaces between words. Headings break at phrase boundaries, which Chrome has supported for Japanese since version 119, and punctuation never starts a line.
Family name first, a furigana field for the reading of the name, and a postal code that fills in the address. Small details decide whether a form gets finished.
Japanese business sites usually carry a company profile page, 会社概要, with the registered name, address and representative. I build it with Organization markup.
Eknas and Nimtto already run in English and Nepali with hreflang; Japanese uses the same foundations. The form and mobile checks I run on every site are in my website UX checklist.
Japanese rules
Japan has its own privacy law, a disclosure rule for online sellers, a search market split by device, and its own messenger.
The Act on the Protection of Personal Information, overseen by the Personal Information Protection Commission, also reaches businesses abroad that handle the data of people in Japan. I build clear privacy notices, short forms and secure storage, with care before any data goes to third parties or overseas.
If you sell online, the law expects your seller name, address, phone number, prices with shipping, payment, delivery and returns to be shown, usually on a page titled 特定商取引法に基づく表記. The final order screen must repeat the key terms.
On phones, Google had 88% of searches in Japan in October 2026 and Yahoo! 9.17%. On desktops, Bing led with 55.41%, by StatCounter. So I verify every site in both Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
LY Corporation says LINE passed 100 million monthly users in Japan at the end of 2025. I add a LINE Official Account button and QR code wherever customers book or ask, the way a site in Nepal gets a WhatsApp button.
Built with these rules in mind; your lawyer has the final say. I’m a developer, and none of this is legal advice.
Outsourcing from Japan
SMEs make up 99.7% of Japanese companies, by the SME Agency’s count, and a 2019 METI study warned of a shortfall of up to 790,000 IT workers by 2030. One developer abroad, on one defined project, is a practical answer.
Send what you need in English, or in Japanese through a translation tool. I reply with questions in plain English.
Thirty minutes on Zoom or Google Meet after 12:15 Tokyo time, inside my working day.
Every page, feature and test written down, with one fixed price in USD.
A staging link every week, checked on phones and in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit.
Code, IP and accounts in your company’s name, then a free bug-fix period.
I work in English and Nepali, in plain English that translates cleanly. Need one job done rather than an ongoing hire? I work as a project-based web developer.
Services
Restaurants, shops, trading firms and startups in Japan need sites that work in more than one language and get found. Each service is one fixed price in USD.
Next.js or WordPress sites in Japanese, English and Nepali, fast on a phone and ready for Google and Bing.
Menus, opening hours, LINE reservations and a Google Business Profile in Japanese.
Card checkout and konbini cash payments through Stripe, with the disclosure page Japanese law expects.
A first version with accounts, plans and payments, an admin console and the marketing site.
Technical SEO in the code, both webmaster tools set up, and keyword research done per language.
A redesign, a new language version or a fix, quoted once and finished, with no monthly contract.
Everything I offer, and how each project runs, is on my web development and SEO services page.
Proof
The closest matches in my own work: products that run in two languages and two scripts, each live, each with a case study.
Bilingual SaaS
Animated invitations for Nepali families at home and abroad: English or नेपाली in one tap, and a separate international site.
Loyalty SaaS
Loyalty cards for shops, with a full Nepali version, hreflang for each language and a documented public API.
Rental marketplace
Car and bike rentals with QR payments that carry the amount, and search pages Google can read for 16 cities.

Case study: JhinoPublish an HTML file as a live web app with sign-ins, sharing and live sync, tested in three browser engines.
I saw a real problem in the Nepali market: online wedding invitations were made for Western weddings, not for ours. Ujjwal Rupakheti helped me bring my idea to reality. He built Nimtto with Nepali and English, Bikram Sambat dates and RSVPs for every ceremony, exactly the way I imagined it.
“He approached the project with the precision of an engineer and the strategic thinking of a marketer.”
Also live: prishta.com, report-card software in Nepali and English that I worked on at Ektukra Digital Agency. All 13+ projects are on my case studies page.

Hours, languages, privacy, search and payment, answered for businesses in Japan.
Ask me on WhatsAppYes. I work with companies in Japan as an independent contractor from Itahari, Nepal. You get a fixed quote in USD, a written contract in English, payment by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and an NDA if you want one. The code and intellectual property transfer to your company on payment.
Japan is 3 hours 15 minutes ahead of Nepal all year, because neither country uses daylight saving time. So 9:00 in Tokyo is 5:45 in Nepal, and my 9:00 start is 12:15 in Tokyo. From then until 18:00 your time, your afternoon sits inside my normal working day.
Yes. Each language gets its own URLs, such as /ja/, /en/ and /ne/, linked with hreflang tags so Google shows each searcher the right version. Japanese uses light system fonts and phrase-aware line breaks, and Devanagari keeps its own spacing. Your translator supplies the Japanese copy; I make the site present it properly.
No. I work in English and Nepali. You can send the brief in English, or in Japanese through a translation tool, and I answer in plain English that translates cleanly. If you run a Nepali-owned business in Japan, the calls can be in Nepali, with the scope and contract in English for your records.
If your site collects names, emails or orders from people in Japan, Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information is likely relevant, even when the business sits abroad. I build clear privacy notices, short forms and secure storage, and take care before data goes to third parties or overseas. Your lawyer has the final say.
If you sell online to customers in Japan, yes. The Act on Specified Commercial Transactions expects your seller name, address, phone number, prices with shipping, payment and delivery timing, and return terms to be shown. Shops usually put it on a page titled 特定商取引法に基づく表記, and Stripe asks for a complete one before it enables konbini payments.
All three matter, by device. In October 2026, Google had 88% of mobile searches in Japan and Yahoo! 9.17%, while Bing led on desktops with 55.41%, by StatCounter. I verify your site in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools and submit sitemaps to both, so office and phone searchers both find you.
In USD, by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, in milestones written into the contract. You see each milestone working on the preview link before you pay for it. Wise and PayPal show the yen amount before you send. Domain, hosting, paid plugins and tools are extra and stay in your company’s name.
Send a short note on WhatsApp or by email, in English or Nepali. I reply within one working day, usually before your office closes.
