Hire a Remote Web Developer for Singapore SMEs and Startups

When you hire a remote web developer for Singapore work, the time zone decides how smoothly it runs. I work from Itahari, Nepal, just 2 hours 15 minutes behind you. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack developer and SEO specialist with 3+ years and 13+ projects shipped. You get most of your working day, PDPA-aware builds and one fixed quote.

  • Your 11:15 to 17:00 inside my normal working day

Singapore to Nepal Time Difference and Shared Hours

Singapore is 2 h 15 min ahead of Nepal all year. Your 9:00 is my 6:45, and my normal working day covers your 11:15 to 17:00 without any change of routine.

That is 5 h 45 min of your day inside my normal hours. On call days I start at 07:00, which is 9:15 in Singapore, so a morning stand-up works too, and a regional office in Bangkok or Jakarta gets its whole day.

  • No clock changesNeither Singapore nor Nepal uses daylight saving time, so the gap is the same in every month of the year.
  • HolidaysChinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa and Deepavali in Singapore; Dashain and Tihar in Nepal, usually between late September and November. Both calendars go into the plan, so no launch lands on either.

APAC hub

Websites for Singapore Companies Selling Across APAC

A Singapore company often sells well beyond the island: to Malaysia next door, Indonesia, Australia or Hong Kong. A regional site needs one structure that Google understands for each market, not the same page copied five times.

  • A folder per market, such as /sg/ and /my/
  • hreflang tags such as en-SG and en-MY
  • Prices in each market’s currency
  • Chinese or Malay pages from your translator
  • One CMS, so a price changes once
  • Search Console data split by market

Singapore searches mostly on Google: 92.35% of searches in October 2026, by StatCounter. I research keywords on Singapore data and write in the British-style spelling Singapore English uses, with keyword research done separately for each market.

Each folder carries its own language tags, prices and Search Console view, so one market never outranks another by mistake.

Singapore rules

PDPA, Do Not Call and PayNow for Singapore Websites

Singapore’s privacy law, its marketing rules and its payment habits all show up on a website. These are the ones I build around.

The PDPA

The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 covers how you collect, use and disclose personal data: consent, a clear purpose and a notice. Every organisation must name someone responsible for it and make their business contact details available, so your privacy page lists a data protection contact.

Consent and notices

The Do Not Call Registry

Marketing calls, texts and faxes to Singapore numbers must be checked against the Do Not Call Registry, unless the person gave clear and unambiguous consent. My sign-up forms record when and how that consent was given.

Marketing messages

PayNow and SGQR Checkout

PayNow sits inside SGQR, Singapore’s shared QR code, which builds on the EMVCo QR standard. Stripe offers PayNow to Singapore businesses in SGD, with a code valid for one hour. In Sajilai, I wrote EMVCo payment QRs with the amount already inside.

Stores and bookings

.com.sg Domains

A .com.sg is for businesses registered in Singapore, such as with ACRA; a foreign company can use a local agent. I register it in your company’s name, redirect any spare domain and set up Google Business Profile.

Registered in your name

Built with these rules in mind; your lawyer has the final say. I’m a developer, not a data protection officer, and none of this is legal advice.

Getting started

How to Hire a Remote Web Developer for Singapore, Step by Step

No agency layer and no hiring platform: you deal with the person who writes your code from the first message.

  1. 01

    Send a Short Note

On WhatsApp or by email: what you need, your deadline and who your users are. I reply within one working day.

  2. 02

    Call in Your Working Day

Thirty minutes on Zoom or Google Meet, any time from 9:15 to 17:00 Singapore time.

  3. 03

    Fixed Quote and Contract

Scope, milestones and one price in USD, in writing, with an NDA first if you want one.

  4. 04

    Weekly Previews

A working preview link every week. You pay each milestone after you have seen it working.

  5. 05

    Launch & Handover

Code, IP and accounts in your company’s name, then a free bug-fix period.

Need one defined piece of work rather than an ongoing hire? I work as a project-based web developer: one scope, one price, done.

Businesses in Nepal rarely know who their regular customers are, or whether an offer actually brings anyone back. Ujjwal Rupakheti built Eknas to change that: a free wallet for customers, a counter app where staff record a purchase by phone number or QR code, and a dashboard where owners run offers and see results by branch. He understood the problem and built every part of it properly.

FAQ: Hiring a Remote Web Developer for a Singapore Business

Hours, the PDPA, PayNow, regional sites and payment, answered for Singapore companies.

Ask me on WhatsApp

Can a Singapore Company Hire a Remote Web Developer in Nepal?

Yes. I work with companies abroad as an independent contractor from Itahari, Nepal, not as an employee, so there is no payroll to run. You get a fixed quote in USD, a written contract, payment by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, and an NDA if you want one. Code and IP transfer to your company on payment.

What is the Time Difference Between Singapore and Nepal?

Singapore is 2 hours 15 minutes ahead of Nepal all year, because neither country uses daylight saving time. So 9:00 in Singapore is 6:45 in Nepal, and my 9:00 start is 11:15 in Singapore. Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong share Singapore’s clock.

How Many Working Hours Overlap?

From 11:15 to 17:00 Singapore time, 5 hours 45 minutes, your day sits inside my normal working hours. On call days I start at 07:00 Nepal time, which is 9:15 in Singapore, so in practice almost your whole working day is reachable without anyone working late.

Will My Website Follow the PDPA?

I build it to support the PDPA: a notice that matches what you collect, consent where it’s needed, forms that ask only for what you use, secure storage and a published data protection contact. Compliance also depends on how your company handles data after launch, so your lawyer or data protection officer has the final say.

Do I Have to Report a Data Breach in Singapore?

Since 1 February 2021, the PDPA has required organisations to notify the PDPC of a data breach that is likely to cause significant harm or is of significant scale, and to tell the people affected where harm is likely. I build access logs and limits that help you spot one; your lawyer handles the notice.

Can You Add PayNow to My Online Store?

Yes. If your business is in Singapore, Stripe can show customers a PayNow QR code at checkout, payable in SGD from their banking app, next to card payments. The code expires after an hour, so the order page handles retries and confirmations. The Stripe account stays in your company’s name.

Can You Build One Site for Several Asian Markets?

Yes. Each market gets its own folder, such as /sg/ or /my/, with hreflang tags, local prices and its own Search Console view, all managed from one CMS. Chinese or Malay versions come from your translator, and I research keywords separately for each market rather than translating them.

How Do Singapore Clients Pay?

In USD, by bank transfer, Wise or PayPal, in milestones written into the contract, so you pay for work you have already seen on the preview link. Wise and PayPal show the Singapore-dollar amount before you send. Domain, hosting, paid plugins and tools are extra and stay in your name.
