Room Pages
One page per room type with real photos, size, beds, view, what’s included, the rate and whether it includes 13% VAT. A guest should never have to ask what the Deluxe room looks like.
Hotel website design in Nepal is how a hotel, lodge, homestay or resort takes more bookings direct, instead of paying commission on every guest from Booking.com or Agoda. I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a web developer in Itahari. I build fast sites with room pages, real photos, rates, booking and payment by eSewa, Khalti or card.
01Direct bookings
Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia are good at finding guests who have never heard of you. Your own website is better at the ones who have: people who saw you on Google Maps, came back after a trek or were sent by a friend. If they book through an OTA, you still pay commission.
| Your own website | Booking.com, Agoda or Expedia | |
|---|---|---|
| Best at | Guests who search your name, find you on Maps or come back | Travellers browsing a city who don’t know you yet |
| Cost of a booking | No commission, only your payment provider’s fee | The commission in your contract, on every booking |
| How you look | Your rooms, photos and words, on your own pages | Your listing inside their layout, beside nearby hotels |
| Repeat guests | You keep their contact for next season | They return to the app, where other hotels compete for them |
You don’t need to leave the OTAs. Keep them for new guests, and let your website and your local SEO win back repeat guests, referrals and people who search your name.
02What it needs
Guests decide on a phone, often on mobile data. Six things decide whether they book with you or go back to the app, and every hotel website I build covers all six.
One page per room type with real photos, size, beds, view, what’s included, the rate and whether it includes 13% VAT. A guest should never have to ask what the Deluxe room looks like.
Rooms, bathrooms, the view and the restaurant, resized to WebP so the gallery opens fast, with alt text that names each room.
A booking enquiry from any page, with dates and guests, sent to your email and WhatsApp, or full online booking with availability when you’re ready for it.
eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay QR for guests from Nepal, and card through your bank’s gateway for guests from abroad, for a deposit or the whole stay.
A map, directions from landmarks guests already know, pickup from the airport or bus park if you offer it, and check-in and check-out times.
English first, Nepali for domestic travellers, and Chinese or Hindi only when those guests are a real share of your bookings, with hreflang so Google shows each version correctly.
03Booking
There are two ways for a guest to book on your own site, and a third tool that matters once you sell on several OTAs. The right choice depends on your rooms and where bookings come from today.
Most small hotels start here
NPR 18,000from, 1–2 weeks
The guest picks dates, a room and the number of guests, and the request reaches you by email and WhatsApp. You confirm and take a deposit by eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer. It suits homestays and small hotels.
When you sell many rooms direct
NPR 60,000from, 3–8 weeks
The guest sees which rooms are free, pays a deposit or the full stay, and is confirmed at once. Each payment is checked with the provider on the server, and two guests can never take the same room for the same night.
A channel manager keeps rates and availability in step across Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia and your booking engine, so a room sold on one closes on the others. SiteMinder, STAAH and Cloudbeds are examples. If you use one, the website sends guests to its booking engine.

Case study: SajilaiA rental marketplace I built, where the database refuses two bookings for one vehicle over the same hours. Hotel booking needs the same care.

04Payments & speed
Guests from Nepal pay with the wallet already on their phone. Guests from abroad pay by card. The website has to offer both, confirm each payment on the server and still open quickly on a phone.
Each needs a merchant account. I record every payment exactly once, as my payment integration guide explains.
Several Nepali banks run card gateways for Visa and Mastercard. Global IME Bank launched one with Nepal Clearing House in 2025 for travel and hospitality.
PayPal only works with an account that can receive payments, so I check yours before planning around it. A bank card gateway is the usual route.
Static or server-rendered pages and right-sized WebP photos, checked against Core Web Vitals on a real phone.
05Found on Google
Most guests meet your hotel on Google before they meet your website. The profile, the structured data on the site and your reviews have to tell the same story, in the same words.
Ujjwal’s SEO expertise transformed our online visibility. Within months, our hospitality business was ranking for keywords we never thought possible. His technical understanding of search algorithms combined with his development skills makes him uniquely effective. He doesn’t just optimize, he builds systems that sustain rankings long-term.
Google removes reviews posted for an incentive, such as a discount or a free dinner, and forbids asking only happy guests, so ask everyone at checkout with one link. My Google Business Profile setup guide covers verification, categories and the review link step by step.

Hotel Aarohi in Chandrapur, Rautahat has rooms from NPR 2,500, a Thakali restaurant and halls for events. Between March and May 2026 I designed and built its website on my own: rooms filtered by Standard, Deluxe, Luxury and Suite, a booking enquiry from a modal on any page, and the booking phone number always in view.
Landing pages answer the searches guests make, such as the best hotel in Chandrapur, with Hotel, opening hours, FAQ and breadcrumb structured data. The site is static HTML on GitHub Pages, so it opens fast on rural connections and is free to host. What I’d add next: Nepali versions of the local pages, and a Business Profile matched to the site.
07Where
Who your guests are changes what the site leads with. Foreign arrivals in Nepal’s 2025/26 fiscal year were 1,209,357 by the Nepal Tourism Board’s count, led by India, the United States and China, and domestic travellers come on top of that.
Guests compare lake-view rooms and trekking-season rates, so room pages name the view plainly and the rates change by season. More on my web developer in Pokhara page.
Many guests come straight from the airport, so pickup, walking distance to landmarks and late check-in sit near the top. See websites for Kathmandu businesses.
Lodges sell jungle safari packages with the room, so packages get their own pages and the booking form asks for the activity. See web development in Chitwan.
Weekend guests from the valley book for the mountain view and the sunrise, so photos and the drive time do most of the selling.
Business travellers and wedding parties search for a hotel in the town itself, the search the Hotel Aarohi pages answer.
I work from Itahari and build hotel websites anywhere in Nepal over WhatsApp, email and video calls, with a preview link every week. If you also run a restaurant or café that takes outside guests, see my restaurant website design page.
08Pricing
A hotel or homestay website with booking enquiries starts from NPR 18,000, a site with a CMS from NPR 35,000, and online booking with payments from NPR 60,000. Your price is fixed in writing after a short call.
| Project | Starting price | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel, lodge or homestay websiteRoom pages, gallery, rates, booking enquiry, WhatsApp and map | NPR18,000 | 1–2 weeks |
| Hotel website with CMSSeasonal rates, packages and a blog you edit yourself | NPR35,000 | 2–4 weeks |
| Online booking with paymentsAvailability, eSewa, Khalti, Fonepay or card, confirmed on the server | NPR60,000 | 3–8 weeks |
| Redesign of an existing hotel siteOld URLs mapped and redirected, so rankings are kept | Quoted per site | By size |
| MaintenanceRate updates, backups, uptime checks and small changes | Monthly | By site size |
For comparison, one Pokhara web company’s 2026 price guide puts a tourism or hotel site at roughly NPR 25,000 to 70,000, more with a booking calendar. That is one advertised range, so treat it as approximate.
Not included: domain, hosting, gateway fees, channel manager subscriptions and photography. The code, domain and hosting are in your name after the final payment. Every price is on my services page, other kinds of site are on my web developer in Nepal page, and my guide to website cost in Nepal adds yearly running costs. How the fixed scope, weekly previews and staged payments work is on hiring a project-based web developer.
Prices, bookings, payments and Google, answered for hotels, lodges and homestays.
Ask me on WhatsAppWith me, a hotel, lodge or homestay website with room pages and booking enquiries starts from NPR 18,000 and takes 1 to 2 weeks. A site with a CMS for seasonal rates starts from NPR 35,000, and online booking with eSewa, Khalti or card payments from NPR 60,000. Domain, hosting and gateway fees are extra.
It can move some bookings to you directly, mostly repeat guests, referrals and people who search your hotel’s name or find you on Google Maps. Those bookings pay no OTA commission. It won’t replace the OTAs for travellers who have never heard of you, so keep both, and use the site to bring direct bookings back to you.
For a homestay or a small hotel, a booking enquiry with a fast reply on WhatsApp is usually enough, and it has nothing to pay each month. Online booking with payment makes sense when many guests book direct, or when you want deposits taken automatically. If you already use a booking engine, the site can send guests straight to it.
Yes. Guests in Nepal can pay by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay QR, and guests abroad by Visa or Mastercard through a Nepali bank’s card gateway. You need a merchant account with each provider. I confirm every payment with the provider on the server, so a booking is only held once the money has really arrived.
No special result, no. Google has no rich result for Hotel markup on a hotel’s own site, and room rates in Google come through free booking links from a connectivity partner. Hotel schema still states your address, check-in times, amenities and languages clearly for Google and AI assistants, and links your website to your Business Profile.
Yes. A homestay site usually needs fewer pages: the rooms, the family and the food, the village and how to reach it, and a booking enquiry on WhatsApp. It starts from NPR 18,000 and is static, so hosting costs almost nothing. Bilingual pages in English and Nepali help both foreign and domestic guests.
Yes. I build each language as its own set of pages with hreflang tags, so Google shows guests the right version. English comes first for most hotels, Nepali helps with domestic travellers, and Chinese or Hindi is worth adding when those guests are a real share of your bookings. Each translation should be written or checked by a fluent speaker.
