Looking for a web developer in Kalaiya? I’m Ujjwal Rupakheti, a full-stack developer and SEO specialist in Itahari. For 3+ years I’ve built websites, online stores and SaaS in Nepal. Schools, clinics, agro dealers, lodges and shops in Bara’s headquarters work with me online, in Nepali or English, at fixed prices.
Kalaiya at a glance
The Kalaiya market
Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City is the headquarters of Bara District, which had 763,137 people at the 2021 census. People come in from across the district for the district offices, for Kalaiya Hospital, which the Kathmandu Post described in 2020 as the only government-run hospital in Bara, for schools and colleges, and to sell their crops.
Bara is farming country, known for rice, wheat, maize, sugarcane and vegetables. A state news report in June 2026 counted 93,330 tonnes of spring boro rice grown in the district this year and sold at the Kalaiya market. Most people in Bara speak Bhojpuri at home, and Kalaiya has long been a centre of the Bhojpuri-speaking community.
Faith and history sit close by. The Gadhimai temple at Bariyarpur, about 7 km east, holds a festival every five years, most recently in December 2024, that draws very large crowds from Nepal and India. Simraungadh, the capital of the Karnat kings of Mithila from the 11th to the early 14th century, is also in Bara.
Parents compare schools across Bara before admissions and want fees, results, transport routes and a phone number that answers.
Patients who come in from the villages search on arrival: which doctor is in today, which lab is open, where to stay. Hours and a correct map pin answer that.
Seed, fertiliser and feed dealers, rice mills and grain traders sell to farmers and buyers across the Terai. A price list and WhatsApp ordering save a lot of phone calls.
Visitors to the district offices and to Gadhimai need a room, a meal or a jeep. Photos, prices and directions on Google Maps decide where they go.
What I build
A Kalaiya website has a simple job: answer the question a customer would otherwise phone about, in the language they use, on a phone that is often on mobile data. I keep pages light and put WhatsApp on every one of them, as on every site I build as a web developer in Nepal.
Admission pages, fee structures, notices, exam results and a gallery your office updates itself, with an enquiry form that reaches the principal on WhatsApp.
Doctors and their days, tests and timings, opening hours and directions, with MedicalClinic structured data so Google can show the right details beside your map pin.
A catalogue of seeds, fertiliser, feed or rice varieties with prices you change yourself, and orders by WhatsApp. With online payment by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay, it becomes a store.
Rooms or menus with real photos and prices, directions from the bus park and one-tap calling, so a visitor to the district offices or Gadhimai picks you first.

Case study: PrishtaCAS and report card software for Nepali schools, which I worked on at Ektukra Digital Agency: teachers enter marks on a phone and families read the report card online.

Case study: EknasA loyalty card and reward points app for Nepali shops, built for its owner, so a pharmacy or sweet shop can see who its regular customers are.
Examples of how people phrase searches, not search-volume data.
Search behaviour
People speak Bhojpuri at home but usually search in Nepali, Hindi or English, often typed in Roman letters, and mostly on Google Maps. Visitors from Bihar for Gadhimai search in Hindi or English.
Birgunj is 12 km away and much bigger, so a “near me” search in Kalaiya can still fill with Birgunj results. A Kalaiya business wins those searches back with a complete profile, an exact pin, Kalaiya named on its website and steady reviews. When I check the results for “web developer in Kalaiya”, there are no local pages at all, which tells you how open the field still is.
Local SEO
These are the first things I check for a Kalaiya school, clinic, dealer or lodge. None needs a big budget, and most can be done in a week.
Write “Kalaiya, Bara” and your ward in the profile, page titles and footer, so Google ties you to the town people actually type.
Describe the route from a chowk, the hospital or the bus park, and check the pin sits on your gate. Visitors from the villages navigate this way.
Schools should publish fees, seats and results in Chaitra, before the new session starts in Baisakh, not after parents have already chosen.
A short review link sent after each visit builds the steady, recent reviews that help a Kalaiya profile hold its place against Birgunj.
The method is set out on my local SEO in Nepal page and in the Google Business Profile guide. For a full campaign, see SEO expert in Nepal.
Working together
I work remotely and travel only within Koshi Province, so I don’t come to Kalaiya. That rarely matters: your website, Google profile and Search Console are all managed online, the same way I handle website development across Nepal.
Pricing
Prices are the same across Nepal: websites from NPR 18,000, online stores from NPR 60,000, SaaS from NPR 70,000 and SEO audits from NPR 15,000. A clinic or lodge usually fits the first tier; a school that posts notices every week needs a CMS.

| Online storeSeeds, rice, sweets or goods, with eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay | NPR60,000 | 3–8 weeks |

Domain, hosting and paid plugins are extra. Compare every service on services and pricing, or read the website cost guide for Nepal before you decide.
Coverage
I work with businesses across Bara. For the factories, the special economic zone and Simara Airport in the north of the district, see Jitpur Simara; for the border trade next door, Birgunj.
Schools, clinics, traders, languages and Google Maps, for Kalaiya businesses.
Ask me on WhatsAppA static website for a clinic, pharmacy, lodge or shop starts at NPR 18,000 and takes 1 to 2 weeks. A school or dealer site with a CMS starts at NPR 35,000, and an online store with eSewa, Khalti and Fonepay at NPR 60,000. Domain and hosting are extra, and the quote is fixed in writing.
Yes. A school site needs admissions, fees, notices, results, transport routes and a gallery, all updated by your own office. It starts at NPR 35,000. I also worked on Prishta at Ektukra Digital Agency, CAS and report card software for Nepali schools, so I know how school offices work.
Because Birgunj is close and much bigger, Google often fills a local search in Kalaiya with its businesses. A Kalaiya business can win those searches back with an exact pin, the right category, Kalaiya named on its website, real photos and a steady flow of recent reviews.
Usually Nepali first, with English, because that is how most people type searches. Bhojpuri pages can help with trust, but Google’s hreflang tags use two-letter ISO 639-1 codes and Bhojpuri has none, so they cannot be marked up the usual way. I keep key Bhojpuri phrases inside Nepali pages instead.
Yes. A dealer site lists your seeds, fertiliser, feed or rice varieties with prices you can change yourself, delivery areas and a WhatsApp order button. It starts at NPR 35,000 with a CMS. If you want customers to pay online by eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay, an online store starts at NPR 60,000.
Yes, and early is better, since the festival comes only once every five years and the last one was in December 2024. A lodge needs a complete Google profile, real room photos, prices, directions to Bariyarpur and booking by phone or WhatsApp, live months before the next festival so Google has time to rank it.
No. I work remotely from Itahari and travel only within Koshi Province, so Kalaiya projects run on WhatsApp, video calls and weekly preview links. You take photos from a shot list I send, and I need only access to your website and Google profile to start. Every change is reported to you in writing.
Fixing a wrong pin, category or missing hours can change your Maps visibility within weeks, especially where few nearby rivals have complete profiles. Ranking well for wider searches that Birgunj businesses also target usually takes 3 to 6 months of steady reviews, photos and page work. Nobody can honestly promise a fixed position.
